I just finished reading And They Said It Wasn’t Possible by Karen Hurd. She is also known as the bean lady (wwwkarenhurd.com) because of her recommendation to eat beans (as much as ½ cup of legumes 6 times daily) as part of her process to help individuals with intestinal issues. She believes that noxious recycled bile will bind with the fiber in the beans and be expelled from the body into the toilet. This allows the liver to make fresh mild bile. She states that; “it is bile that causes gas. Nasty, recycled bile ferments our foods instead of digesting them. If the bile was mild – not saturated with trash that has been recycled for who-knows-how-long then we will have digestion take place not fermentation.” I do not fully understand the white diet component of her program (need to study this more) but see the value in increasing our dietary legumes.
